AmeriCanadian writer from West Central & Chicago, Illinois in Nova Scotia via Maine. Live in Dartmouth with hubby (Herald columnist & editorial writer Paul Schneidereit) and our six crazy cats.

Have also lived in Kingswood and Musquodoboit Harbour and was there for both forest fires (and cat evacuations), and for Juan. I have an extensive (albeit a while ago) background in water safety and rescue.

I've been finding homes for wayward cats for more than 30 years, and have worked extensively with cats. Here in NS I've worked with the SPCA as a fundraiser and foster mom, and for GPAC as a greyhound walker. I also worked with the House Rabbit Society as a foster mom while in Chicago.

My family goes way back in the area (Truro, Pictou). We still have our old family cottage on the Northumberland in Toney RIver.
